June 12th 2015

You were admitted to the James Paget Hospital. Nobody still realised how life threateningly ill you were.

June 13th

today was the last time you were conscious and we were able to speak to you. We kissed you goodbye as they wheeled you away to have that operation. Later on they kept you asleep so they could have you on life support to help your body fight the infection. Love you Rachel and miss you dreadfully.

June 14th

you looked like you were doing well, asleep and no longer in pain but you were being helped to breath with antibiotics being intravenously fed to help fight the septic arthritis bug which had spread throughout your body. They said your lungs were coping well despite the shunt draining into the linings. (All those operations in 2014) you had suffered so much my poor baby). However they were concerned that your kidney's were starting to struggle so were going to try dialysis to help support you more. They needed to help flush the infection from your poorly body. Love and miss you Rachel so much.

June 15th

We took turns to sit at your side two at a time Joanna,Dad and I we held your hand and talked to you as best we could you looked okay and to begin with everything looked positive. Love and miss you every day Rachel. A kiss from each of us

June 16th

we tried to stay positive but we were told that the antibiotic was only making a slight difference and that they would have to try a new one overnight. They were also having to stimulate your heart to keep it going. You felt cold despite the warming covers they used and I think we knew deep down you were losing the fight. I read you a story from a Rupert bear annual. I hope you heard it but I believe it was already just your shell sleeping there. Mum x

today your body could fight no more so they turned off all the life support and at 8:45 your heart gradually slowed until you slipped away.Joanna, dad and I were all at your side we held your hand and kissed your brow. Sweet dreams Rachel forever at peace and out of pain.
